Budget Travel Indonesia | Banda Aceh | Staying @ Hotel Lading

Image
I picked this hotel because it is very close to the city's main mosque, Masjid Raya Baiturrahman and Aceh market; practically 5 minutes on foot.  It's also just next to a bank and has a fair share of tsunami stories to tell; we heard some from the owner himself. We came here after visiting the PLTD Apung Tsunami Site about 10 minutes away; it's also near other attractions in the city. I didn't take photos of our stay though because I wasn't a blogger 7 months ago he he, but if you only need a basic room that's in the city center, neat and pretty spacious to spend a night or two, this place would suffice. The only things bothering us were the mosquitoes =D .  Just be sure to bring along your mosquito repellant or request for a mosquito spray from the front desk and spray your room before you go out for the evening. That should take care of it. They also have other types of higher-rate rooms but we only checked into a standard one fit f...

Malaysia Travels | Melaka | Staying @ Swiss Garden Hotel & Residences Melaka City

Image
Despite living only 50 minutes away from Melaka City, we stayed for a couple of nights at the Swiss Garden Hotel & Residences here just to check out what's hot about this relatively new place. I've stayed at the older hotel branch in Lumut before and have been to the one in Kuantan too but I feel this one is the best of them all just because it's new and embellished with modern arts and architecture. Simple reception and lobby area My sister got us a very good deal on booking.com , RM480++ for a 2-night stay in a standard room. Although this was excluding breakfast, it's still worth the money spent coz when we checked in, the room looked like it'd cost around RM500-600++ a night normal rate. We stayed on the 22nd floor and I took a few photos as we were heading to our room; Cool sofas at the lift lobby on our floor View from the lift lobby on our floor; We could actually see the ocean in the horizon but the sea ...

Budget Travel Korea | Jeju | Kim's Cabin Guesthouse

Image
Believe it or not we booked this guesthouse the night before we left for Jeju from Seoul; I was actually so overwhelmed by all the info I gathered from my researches for this whole backpacking trip that I just thought ' Oh, we'll choose the right one once we're there ' - I was too tired to care :P This was my second time in Jeju after 14 years, I basically knew nothing about South Korea then despite being 21 and that trip didn't leave a good impression on me either; but now I have restored faith and new-found love about this country ^^ Anywho , Kim's Cabin was one of my research's results and after staying there for 2 nights, I gave this place a 3/5 for us but it could be a 5/5 for travelers who want tranquility, on a budget, have a rented transport and more than 2 nights to spend and more than 1 area to see in Jeju. This is because this part of Jeju is practically a kampung (suburb) with no night scene, at least not that I know of that is wi...
